The linguistic situation, as one of the main concepts of sociolinguistics, takes account of the status of languages, their functional charge, condition, geographical diffusion in definite political, economic, or cultural spheres. In this particular case, the synchronic and diachronic aspects of the language condition in Georgia are discussed according to the corresponding materials. It is advisable to study this important phenomenon in the era of “historical paradigm change.†From this point of view there is need of objective studies of the complete language development process, as it occurs in the countries of the former Soviet Union, including Georgia. |

In the latter time, one of the general methods for investigation of phonetic system is method of computer analysis. The article applies to experimental study of Iberian-Caucasian languages using computer, especially to the study of vowels, rather vowel –a- (simple, palatal and pharengael) in Udi Language. In the article, there is used the tape-recording of the text in Udi language, which was read by Tsatso Chikvaidze. The tape-recording was analyzed using the computer programm “Praatâ€, which is very popular form for study of different sound systems. |

After the long and untiring activities of Syrian ecclesiastics, so called Assyrian Fathers, in VI century successfully and rapidly began to develop monastic movement in Georgia. In different places of eastern Georgia,chosen by Assyrian Fathers themselves, for their following spiritual and ecclesiastic activities, there were gradually sprung up many well-known monastries, which soon became important spiritual and cultural centers for the whole country. |
