On the base of the emigrant periodical issues (“Kavkasioni”, “Obyedinenni Kavkaz”, “Tetri Giorgi”, “Ornati”, “Damoukidebeli Sakartvelo”, “Samshoblo”, “Momavali”, “Sakartvelo”) and the works of the Georgian emigrant authors (Alexandre Manvelishvili, Revaz Gabashvili, Samson Pirtskhalava, Leo Kereselidze, Isidore Mantskava and Victor Nozadze) there are presented the questions of the history of the idea of unity of the Caucasian autochtonic peoples (nations) and the importance of this idea for the development of the region from the standpoint of the representatives of the Georgian political emigration.

National Council of Armenians in Georgia was founded in October 1917, with the delegated function of political leadership over the Armenian people. The Council was headed by the well-know dashnak, Avetis Agaronian. In 1918, after the formation of the three independent States in the South Caucasus the situation changed. National Council lost its initial nature and status, Georgia was formed as an independent State and all other resident nations in the country turned in national minorities.

Caucasians not only are citizens of Russia, not only do not support peaceful relations with it, but, moreover, has for years led a continuous war with Russia. In this war, Caucasians are left to themselves. Ни от одной из держав они никогда не получали какой-либо поддержки или помощи. Despite the fact that the Sultan, being the spiritual head of Mohammedanism had a significant influence in these provinces, the people inhabiting the Black Sea coast and professing this faith has been granted only to defend their own.

Raphiel Eristavi, a well-known writer and public figure of the 19th c. left a rich creative and scholarly heritage. He was a poet, playwright, publicist, lexicologist, being at the same time a historian, archaeologist, and ethnographer.
