After the long and untiring activities of Syrian ecclesiastics, so called Assyrian Fathers, in VI century successfully and rapidly began to develop monastic movement in Georgia. In different places of eastern Georgia,chosen by Assyrian Fathers themselves, for their following spiritual and ecclesiastic activities, there were gradually sprung up many well-known monastries, which soon became important spiritual and cultural centers for the whole country. |

The studies and observation of the relevant sources and literature clearly demonstrate that in spite of causes that ignited the people’s embarrassment, finally the fact always accumulated the content with the national aspect. The program favored by the biggest and strongest political parties of the Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks vouched for the national independence - (in the first case of the Bolsheviks), and for the national and cultural autonomy (in the second case of the Bolsheviks) - were essentially anti-national and did not correspond to the interests of the Georgian nation. |
