The metal vessels occurs on Caucasus for the first time in the epoch of so call Early Bronze Age. In whole this period is datedon the basis of the calibrated dates 14c from first third IV mill. B.C. up to the beginning of the III mill. B.C. [Korenevskiy, 1993, 2001] and corresponds to the Uruk period of the Mesopotamia. Almost all finders couldrons, plates, goblets of the bronze, silver and gold were revealed in the gaves of the Maikop culture. The collection of metal vessels of the Maikop culture consists of forty copies.

Der Siedlungshügel liegt in der Zentralkolchis im Dorf Reka, Bezirk Senaki. Die Höhe des ovalen Hügels ist 1,5 m, Maximaldurchmesser - 60m. Der Hügel war von einem künstlichen Kanal umschlossen.
Die Datierung der Siedlung Naochvamu unternahmen A. Jessen, G. Nioradze, B. Kuftin, T. Mikeladze, E. Gogadze, G. Pchakadze, M. Baramidze, L. Džibladze, N. Chachutaišvili, A. Gabelia, dennoch bleibt sie ein umstrittenes Problem das einiger Präzisierung bedarf.

Die Erforschung der spätbronze- und früheisenzeitlichen Siedlungen in der Kolchis-Niederung begann in den 30er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts mit den Ausgrabungen in Naochvamu, Anaklija I, Otchamtchire und Dablagomi. Unschätzbaren Beitrag zur Erforschung der spätbronze- und früheisenzeitlichen Kulturen lieferte B. Kuftin. Ausgehend von den oben genannten Siedlungen bildete B. Kuftin als erster eine stratigraphische Abfolge der spätbronze- und früheisenzeitlichen Denkmäler, arbeitete einzelne Schichten und chronologische Perioden heraus usw. Seine Forschungen sind auch heute noch gültig.
