In the central part of the Iori Upland, situated in the Eastern part of Georgia – in Gareja-Iori region, which is distinguished by the number of its historical-cultural monuments of high conservation value (mid-centuries complex of monastery of David-Gareja with the bright pieces of architecture cut in the rocks), quite diverse and interesting complex of archeological monuments (sites of ancient settlements, burial mounds) of all stages of Bronze era (II half of the IV millennium – end of the II millennium B.C.) and Paleolithic era (beginning of the I millennium B.C.) have been exposed by the archeologists |
