Im Rahmen einer Kooperation zwischen dem Seminar für Orientalische Archäologie und Kunstgeschichte der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg (Felix Blocher) und dem Laboratory for Visual Anthropology and Local History der Ilia State University Tbilisi (ISU) (Paata Bukhrashvili) konnte mit Unterstützung der DOG im September/Oktober 2017 in einer burgartigen Siedlung am Rande der Shiraki-Ebene in Kachetien (Ostgeorgien) eine Ausgrabung durchgeführt werden. |

In the Abasha Municipality, village Guleiskari, on the left bank of the River Rioni is located artificial hill - old settlement known as "Naeklesiari". One cultural layer of pre-classic era containing two construction horizons had been identified. |
